Cheers to the New Year with pomegranate syrup - Brindisi all'Anno nuovo con lo sciroppo di melagrana - Nazdravimo Novoj godini sa sirupom od nara!

Folk custom says to eat food in form of many grains on New Year’s eve, it should bring you prosperity and wealth in the new year! I offer you many grains to drink, a healthy pomegranate syrup that will be a treasure for your soul!
During this year and especially during its last month we have baked so, so many perfumed cookies and tasty pastry, we have invented and tasted plenty of new recipes, we were surprised by excellent skills of our colleagues and friends bloggers, we have shared our simple and complicated recipes and suggestions….it was very rich year and all our work and dedication to our hobby deserve a toast. Because our hobby is beautiful, we cook, we take pictures, we enjoy doing it, we comunicate with each other, but it is also demanding and requires a lot of time and commitment.
Therefor we need a lot of new energy and serenity. We need another interesting year that will inspire us more and more, because at the end we create the beauty and we offer it to the world!

POMEGRANATE SYRUP

2 big pomegranate fruits = 700 gr of clean grains
350 gr of sugar
1 lemon, only juice

Clean pomegranates with care, eliminate all skins, because are bitter.
In one large casserole put one layer of pomegranate grains, cover them with some sugar and repeat this operation until all ingredients will be consumed.
Leave to rest 24 hours in cold room to allow the sugar to dissolve completely. After that time press the grains with steak hammer, drain the juice and put the remaining grains into the kitchen canvas, squeeze out the remaining juice and eliminate all seeds.
Filter the lemon juice and add it to the pomegranate syrup. Let it boil for only few minutes on very low heat and bottle up the syrup. Keep in refrigerator.
Dilute the syrup with water or even Champagne or sparkling wine and serve with a cubes of ice!




SCIROPPO DI MELAGRANA

2 melagrane grandi = 700 gr di chicchi puliti
350 gr di zucchero
1 limone, solo succo

Pulire le melagrane con cura eliminando tutte le pellicine bianche perché sono amare.
In una casseruola grande mettere uno strato di chicchi, coprirli con una parte di zucchero e ripetere questa operazione fino all’esaurimento di tutti i chicchi e di tutto lo zucchero.
Lasciare riposare per 24 ore al fresco per permettere allo zucchero di sciogliersi completamente. Trascorso questo tempo schiacciare i chicchi con un batticarne, filtrare il succo, mettere i chicchi rimanenti in un canovaccio, spremere il resto del succo e eliminare tutti i semi.
Filtrare il succo di limone e aggiungerlo allo sciroppo di melagrana. Far bollire lo sciroppo per pochi minuti a fuoco molto basso e imbottigliarlo. Tenere nel frigorifero.
Diluire lo sciroppo con l’acqua oppure con lo Champagne o lo spumante e servire con qualche cubetto di giaccio!




SIRUP OD NARA

2 velika nara = 700 gr čistog zrnja
350 gr šećera
1 limun, samo sok

Pažljivo očistiti nar i odstraniti svu bijelu kožicu, jer je gorka.
U veliku posudu staviti red zrnja, pokriti zrnje šećerom i ponoviti ovaj postupak dok se ne potroši svo zrnje i sav šećer.
Ostaviti da stoji 24 sata na hladnom mjestu da bi se sav šećer otopio. Nakon tog vremena zgnječiti zrnje s batom za meso, procijediti sok, staviti ostatak zrnja u kuhinjsku krpu i iscijediti preostali sok, te odstraniti sve sjemenke.
Procijediti limunov sok e dodati ga sirupu od nara. Kuhati sirup samo par minuta na vrlo laganoj vatri i uliti ga u boce. Čuvati u hladnjaku.
Razrijediti sirup vodom ili Šampanjcem ili pjenušcem i poslužiti s par kockica leda!
